COVID-19: Safety Guidance for Construction Workers

The Linn County Public Health Department (LCPH) has prepared COVID-19 safety guidance for the construction industry.  Employers should also note the Construction Industry Safety Coalition has produced a COVID-19 plan template with recommendations for best practice, and it may be customized to fit the needs of individual companies:

The purpose safety plan template is to outline the steps that every employer and employee can take to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.  The plan describes how to prevent worker exposure to coronavirus, protective measures to be taken on the jobsite, personal protective equipment and work practice controls to be used, cleaning and disinfecting procedures, and what to do if a worker becomes sick.

Additionally, Iowa OSHA should be contacted by the employee if an unsafe workplace is perceived due to COVID-19 cases or any other job safety concern. They can be reached by these methods:
