Work Wanted Launched to Address New Needs of Job Seeker Market

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- Corridor Careers, a digital platform for job postings and a variety of workforce resources in Eastern Iowa, has announced the launch of their newest tool for job seekers and employers.  Work Wanted is a tool to highlight professional  skillsets for ease of connection from job seeker to employer. This tool is free for candidates and employers.

The Work Wanted feature was fast tracked by the Corridor Careers team in response to COVID-19 and the complexities of the current job market.

“From record unemployment in early 2020 to the dramatic rise in job loss over the last several weeks, job seekers have been thrown into a complicated job market,” said Liz Kennedy, Audience Development Manager for The Gazette. “Emotions running high with a desire to be able to raise awareness to one’s skills and abilities can be overwhelming. Work Wanted allows job seekers to be proactive and highlight their skills and desired industry. This allows employers to instantly assess potential matches for a listed or unlisted job opportunity and invite them to apply. Plus, with built in safeguards like maintaining candidate’s anonymity, it provides a safe way to actively search for a new role.”

By featuring the unique qualities and experience of an individual seeking employment, employers will be able to match high priority job skillsets without the stress of the search through resumes and lengthy job postings.
